I live 1/2 mile from the UP line in Nebraska. Saw quite a site yesterday, a whole train full of locomotives ONLY. Had seen some before, up to about 6 or so, but this one had about 18 all headed east, quite a thing to see. Jerry
were they old ones or the new ones? I have a friend that works for UP and we were talking the other day. He tells me that UP has a large number of new Locomotives on the way. Lots of them are the green friendly ones as well. That could have been them, or the old ones from CA going to there new home.
So where are the pictures ?
Recently a friend loaned me the book, “The Locomotives That Baldwin Built” by Fred Westing. It has a photo from 1892 showing a train of 20 brand new 0-4-4T locos being pulled by a large 4-6-0. The new locos were being delivered to Chicago for use on the El.
