Train Derailment in Denver

I heard on the news this AM that there was a derailment in Denver, CO. Apparently, it was a bheer train! There was no mention of which brand of bheer.

They did show, briefly, a photo of a BNSF GP40-2 (I think, they all look alike to me  ), but again, they did not specify which RR was the offender.

No one was hurt.

This, of course, brings to the fore, all manner of questions:
Was it the Coors Bheer train?
Was the crew sober?
Was the reason no one was hurt because they were so loose when the crash occurred that they just bounced?
How are they going to replace all of that Holy Water?
Was Stan C. anywhere near?
Who is the lucky guy that gets to clean up the mess?

If it was Coors, the crew was stonecold sober. Very hard to get inebriated on fizzy water. Was Adolph Coors from Nuernberg? (Runs away to hide as B-b reaches for his thwacking pole)

Chris,

According to Wiki he was born in Barmen, part of Wuppertal.  Sheesh I sure wish you wouldnā€™t start such ā€œrumoursā€.

Naaa Even Bob agrees Coors is swillā€¦I affectionately call it ā€˜Redneck Horse Whizā€™ā€¦

News, last night, said they lost control during a switching manuever. ??? Wonder if this was an R/C controlled switch engine?

I though Coors was reffered to as Rocky Mountain Runoff?

For those that like the gory details, it seems that 34 cars got away from them during switching. The runaway ended with a headon with 2 parked locomotives at 40 mph. Yup, that thing with the yellow stripe use to be a locomotive.

Iā€™ll bet that was a loud bang!

Pieces of the top half of the ex Santa Fe locomotive.

And a picture of the ex Santa Fe locomotive taken prior to the wreck.

Wow, thatā€™s an impressive wreck! Sounds like no one was hurt though.

Back in the mid-90ā€™s, a runaway hopper plowed into a tourist train being pulled by a steam loco on the Nevada Northern. They only recently got that loco back into operation.

And how did it end up being a runaway?

Donā€™t know. Maybe they were sampling the merchandiseā€¦

No one has said yet as to how the cars got loose. I also have lots of good photos of the incident. Just glade no injuries involved, Later RJD
