Trailways Bus

I started work on a Rio Grande Trailways bus. I’m using a 1:25 resin 1941 Chevy school bus body. Not a perfect match to the 1936 Yellow Coach models used by the Rio Grande, but about the closest I could find in a scale that is close to our layout. Here’s what the real one looks like:

And here is the bus I’m working on:

This is what the school bus kit looks like:

And a link to the company that makes the bus kits, if anyone was wondering: RMR Resin

…grinning…

Nice.

What did you use for the chrome grill? Looks good!
ralph

I used the grille from a Revell 1:25 1941 Chevy pickup kit. Also used the bumpers, headlights, side mirror, and steering wheel.

I’ll use the rest of the pickup kit as a rusted out shell and put it somewhere out on the layout.

Great work!

Got some cream paint on it:

Modeling for the atmosphere is sometimes even better (and/or more fun!) than modeling for the rivets.

REAL nice. I wish there were kits like this around 1:20, or so, give or take a bit…

Here.Here. I agree.

Coming along very good. I had seen that resin web site. Did get a 56 Buick off of another resin site. I used a old Hubley bus I got at a flea market. Put windows/seats in it, Howdy Doody is the driver. My wife cut the vinyl lettering. Red lights are circles of red vinyl cut with a hole punch.

Getting close:
