While stumbling through Youtube, I ran across this gem. Jim is gone now, but thanks to the wonders of film, his memory lives on.
I’ve seen that Steve. I also recall the article about his railway in an older Garden Railways issue. I believe it was when Mark Horowitz was still in charge.
Very nice. I don’t recall seeing that one before.
Thanks for posting that, Steve.
I would add that thanks to the work of a dedicated group of fellow modelers, the Woodland Railway is continuing on. Regular monthly operating sessions will begin in April or May, and continue through October.
Later,

Can I add a +1 in “thanks” for posting that a well Steve. I thought I was a PBS junkie and had seen all of the Tracks Ahead …ain’t seen that one! I remember the 1st episode when I was like 20yrs old. Steve would probably have been long retired by then though.
Hey, Steve! I enjoyed watching Tracks Ahead again (what a great show that was) and seeing the video of Jim Strong’s impressive layout. I have read a lot and seen many pictures of his Woodland Railroad but this video really puts it in perspective…awesome railroad and awesome person. Thanks for sharing it with us.
