TRACK

IT’S ABOUT TIME. One year short of 80, so planning to start liquidating some of my toys. Here’s the deal; my layout has been out in the weather for 4 years. It’s still in very useable condition and I want to sell it at 1$ per foot. Here’s the rub; buyer has to come and get it and disassemble it. I am in Rio Rico, AZ. It is not attached to the cement roadbed but is joined with screw on joiners. I use to take it in every Fall, but not the last few years.

Attached is a photo when I started construction, there is more now but you can see pretty much what is there. I haven’t measured, but I’m guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 200+ feet. It’s all LGB brass. Let me know if there’s any interest. I also have considerable buildings, accessories, and rolling stock to unload at VERY reasonable prices.

Norman… I may be interested in the whole lot of track, But where is Rico? I’m in Farmington NM, near the four corners. Rico, AZ. Doesn’t show up on Google Earth. The only thing that shows up is Rio Rico, way south down by Nogales.

Dave he said " I am in Rio Rico, AZ." So you got it.

Dave,

I’ll be driving up past you this summer on my annual trip up to the Dallas Divide. I’m in Vail on the SE side of Tucson, maybe for an ‘accessory’ or two I could go get it for you.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Of course I’ll hold it hostage so I can impress my grand nephews and niece with the 315!

John

OOPPS… My bad, I missed the 'RIO" part in my rush to see if it was closer to home.

John, Thats a 10+ hr drive each way, + pit stops, and I thought that I could make an excuse to “drop by”, But I think that I’ll have to give it a lot of thought. Its a days driving, Hotel for the night, Pull the track, 5-6 hrs driving, Hotel, and 5-6 hr drive back home. +7 meals on the road. Suddenly it becomes a lot more expensive then $1.00 per ft. Can you use some of it?

BTW: 315 will be in Chama thru the 2017 season and maybe part of the 2018 season also… Hey only a short detour…

Darn… 2 years ago we rode the Cumbres and Toltec, kinda of a been there done that for them…

It’s a 10 hour drive to the mesa and a half day from there to Farmington. Would have been doable in Durango …

I’m ok on track and only ‘need’ a half dozen sway back flat cars, should I ever get my cellulose firma finished.*

  • ok it’s never finished …

I have to be careful making promises about what I can do, my memory discounts the effects of radiation and chemo …

John

Norm, don’t need the track, I’ve a couple hundred feet I’m getting ready to sell myself. But do you happen to have a Silverton City Hall in the collection of buildings you are selling? Or what are you selling in the way of buildings? Might have something else I’d be interested in. Thanks.
