I live near the ocean at the New Jersey shore and set up an outdoor 80 ft run last year and left the track out through the winter. I also have a delay switch which sends the engine back and forth at set intervals. When I cleaned the track surface and set up the trains this Spring I found that the connnections between the tracks seem to have been compromised results in the engine stopping after certain points in the track.
I use LGB track and wonder if it can be left out?
Also is there a way of cleaning the connections short of trying to sand them?
Is their a way to leave the track out during the winter and protecting it with some material?
