Large Scale Central

Town on the P.B.R.R

Finally got to make use of those pesky political signs I have had since the fall. Gotta Love the free building material

Looks like someone dropped something…

They look great. I actually thought they were real at first.

Nice job. Love the ground level photography.

Very realistic!!! Great job. Looks like a Western “shoot out” is about to start any minute…maybe the winner gets those super big Marlboro cigarettes.
Doc Tom

seeing the first pic, i thought prototype… - till i noted the horses.

I thought the “Duke” was going to walk out between the buildings and walk down the street. Great looking buildings.

One of the best I have seen. GREAT Job!

That’s the best use for political signs I’ve ever seen~

Nice town. And the low level photography really sets it off

Very nice!

Me too. Great job !!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.
I have a station on the workbench now; no point in having a town without a station. I also have to build a church, or will likely be looking for another place to sleep for a while…
Just a couple of more buildings and I’ll call it good on those.

Don those look amazing! One question though…How are you ‘planting them’ on your RR? Directly on the ground or some hidden foundation?

They are going right down on the dirt. I am fortunate enough (in at least one aspect) to work for a bulk construction materials company, ‘Combs Materials’ (definitely a company plug) here in AZ, and the sand, 200’s etc. are all easy to get. Along with owning a couple of tractors, all of the dirt work is easy for me. The tractors do the hard work, and once its packed down, nothing will grow in it. Of course we only have 8 weeks or so of rain per year here…
I thought about a concrete foundation, but just can’t justify the additional cost and labor for it.

You can see where my last additon went to here.

Alas, there was still another 40’ of track to consume out there, so this is where it went. A continuous loop on the bottom now. the red is where the border used to be.

Cool! ;)

Thanks Don. We get about 12" a year so I might try what you are doing. Certainly like the effect of what you are doing.
