Large Scale Central

Tornado? Hurricane? Nope. Moving

I’ve taken up all my buildings and am in the process of moving. It’s sad to have gone from this:

To the above, but hopefully I can get some track out this fall and run trains, even if all the buildings are packed up.

I feel for you Dan!

But you’re going to have a new layout opportunity in the new digs, right?

Dang, but that looks good.

Where are you moving to?

Wow That looks good, hope you are not moving due to Kansas.

Dennis

That was a really nice looking layout.

Dan,

What a shame. Your plantings in particular are stunning. Will we get to enjoy your artistry in a new location?

Eric

i like all the ground cover you have!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I’m just moving a couple hours north to Manhattan (not the NY one (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif))

The new place has a lot that’s almost three times larger, but mostly wooded. I’m still thinking about what to do about a new layout. I’ll definitely miss all the live plants and dwarf trees, but don’t know how much of that I can replicate under all the trees…

I’m thinking about going more in the direction of Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha–they have acrylic buildings covered in natural materials that blend in to the outdoor setting. That would be a lot of work… but fun.

Sounds good to me! I like the “fun” option.

Always have admired your “Garden RR” over the years Dan …especially that pic above ^^^^^^^ as there is A LOT packed into that area that the “EYE” can travel above and beyond if you look .

Good luck on the new venture.

Dan,

I am seeing an elevated line snaking in and out of those trees in your future…

Have fun!

Eric

I like your thinking Dan on that design direction. The guy who developed that layout has done many others:

Lots of advantages to making the buildings blend with the materials that are bound to surround them, haha!
