Large Scale Central

Tool & Handcar Shed

Well I haven’t finished my rolling stock builds but I just had to start something new today. The MoW crews will need somewhere to store tools etc. and a place to hide from Management. This measures 24’ X about 12’ with 9’ walls. And a 7’ X 7’ door for the handcar. The framing is only for something to glue the clapboards to and provide the look of trimboards at corners and around door/window openings. First the front wall with the siding starting to be installed.

The back wall framed up.

The siding, 1/8" X 7/16".

The Framing pieces, on the left 5/16" square for interior frames and on the right 1/2" square with 3/16" X 3/16" rabbets milled in oposite corners. These are used at corners and door/window openings.

That’s all for now. Edit for siding dimension.

Nice!
Reminds me of my Lemoyne Tower(Lemo) build! The rabbets and kerfs (slots) have worked very well for me on several builds including the most recent one in the rolling stock category.

That’s some nice looking carpentry.

Real nice Randy. How about running off a few thousand feet of that siding for a friend

Okay got some more done this morning. First milled up about 1200 scale feet of siding for Hollywood. But I think I used just about all of it here. Sorry Dave. The front wall.
