Too much excitement last night

About 11 last night during a massive storm, Yusuke noticed the neighbor’s roof was on fire. I ran through the flood above my knees across the yards and banged on the door. No response and I could hear their fire alarms sounding, so I figured they must not be in. The landline phones were out, so Sully called 911 with his cellphone, but had a hard time getting the 911 operator to understand the address. She kept interrupting, “please use a regular phone.”

Once he was done arguing with the 911 operator, he called the owner’s cellphone. They were in Tulsa but would hurry back.

By the time the firetrucks arrived, there was a pretty big hole in the roof and fire was showing in the top window. By the time the owner and his wife arrived, the roof was gone and you could see fire through the ground floor windows. Managed to save 2 dogs, 2 cars and the lawn mower. It’s not burned to the ground, but there’s nothing left to repair. The fire department has been back 3 times today for flareups.

That is just heart breaking. Glad everyone was safe. I am not a materialistic person but beyond the death or injury of loved one I can’t think of a much more tragic thing to have happen.

I hope thye have the support to get through it until they can rebuild.

My, oh my… so very sad to see, Tom… As Devon posted… just heartbreaking…

God, that really is tough.
