Todd's Build Challenge Log 2015

The boiler is painted. The copper just didn’t look right with the yellow body.

A bit more was done today and the controls took shape. I am sure the speedo will be pegged when this thing hits maximum velocity. Note the “Red Button Max” what does that one do?? Don’t push it just yet…

Hard to believe just a week left…

Testing the Racer last night on a closed circuit track (the basement floor) a design flaw was discovered which may jeopardise the 100mph goal. With mere days left until the grand unveiling of this master piece of art, this blend of form and function the little blue guys will be working overtime to try and overcome the problem. Stay tuned.

The RR test track is buried under 2 feet of ice and snow, the wind is blowing a negative windchill so sadly there will be no test run video this time. The little blue guy pit crew did their best to try and ready the racer for a run but the elements were against them and we had to concede defeat.

Here is another photo taken before the Racer was put away until Mother Nature sees fit to give us a nice day. With the way she is raging we might not see the snow melt and have some track emerge until April.

The total price for this Racer build was $11. The pinstriping was $5 and the pit crew and pilot shipped were $6. Luckily they work for a thing called Smurf Berries and I had to promise them Free housing come the Spring. They will make a fine addition to the RR work crew.

Very cool I love the overall design shape; the cow spliter (well lets be honest at a hundered MPH thats what it would do) is cool and I might be stealing its desgin

Good one Todd. The roof supports do look like D’s. I wanted to continue the use of curves and needed something light weight yet strong. They are made from PVC pipe and wood.

Thanks guys.
