Yeah, the Shorpy site is a great reference resource!

Beautiful Shay pic.

Whoa, I’ve got to dig around on this Shorpy site, its pretty cool. Did you guys notice the trucks on the rolling stock in the first pic Brian links to. I’ve never seen anything like those.
Dave

Going back to look.
whoa, different.
will wager they have no kingpin and the sideframes pivot to skew the assembly.
Looks lie maye a circular plate of metal is bent inot upside down U to go over sode beam then pivot at point between pair of cross bearers.
Maybe?

Funny how people used to wear suit and tie for everything. I don’t wear a tie, it would look silly with bibs.

About how it would look with my jeans and t-shirts!

I know several ol timers that have been known to wear a tie and jacket with their best pair of Carharts to church…
Shoes are sort of a prerequisite when wearing a tie though…

I think hats (not baseball/trucker caps) need to come back in style. Maybe I’ll wear my top hat to York…

Hats for men went out of fashion because the automakers made their cars "Longer and lower." I have my Dad's fedora. I wear it from time to time when I drive the pickup, but not when I drive the Mustang.

Most people around here would not recognize me without a hat. I have a wide brim Aussie “Breezer”
I wear at work. A wide brim leather Kakadu Traders hat and a Panama Jack “Breezer” I wear when not working.
The Panama Jack would probably be considered a Fedora.
Ralph

I’ve been trying to revive the hat since Christmas…

Im not sure how my top hat and red Chucks will go over, but I think Ill give it a try
