I will be glad to answer a question if I could understand what the question was.

Sheesh Mike, Look at the positive! When was the last time you had a live steam engine running under battery operation and the controller in your hand gave you that really nice cozy feeling, like in a hands-on steam cab ride?
Today .

Here’s a funny true story that is somewhat related…
A friend of mine is the local dealer for sport rocketry supplies. He’s required to have an explosives permit to store the motors, though they aren’t actually explosive at all. Anyway, he’s also into electric R/C helicopters, some of which use Lithium-poly batteries.
So one morning he’s away from home. His teenage son is the only one home, sleeping in. The kid is awakened by a fireman coming into his bedroom. A neighbor heard a very loud boom and saw a cloud of smoke rising over the house, and had summoned the fire department. Because of my friend’s explosive permit, the FD sent out several fire trucks, a hazmat truck and an ambulance.
Well, the firemen search the premises and find nothing wrong. Then they go into the back yard and find a charred spot on the lawn plus bits of a Li-poly battery… with toothmarks on it. Turns out the dog took the battery off the table in the house and decided it would make a good chew toy. Somehow the dog survived unscathed. The firemen got a chuckle out of it and left.
hehe
Truth is stranger than fiction! There’s no way people can make up stories as weird as the true ones.
My Dell Laptop is listed as 1 of the models affected by the recall…but the battery installed by the factory is a SANYO…so even though it is no good for more than 5 min on Batt power, I can’t jump into the recall and get a freebie, a new 1 will cost me $150+…

I posted a reply here and it’s gone .
Basically it said that Sony ,who make our laptop ( a Maioi or something ) are delivering free of charge a replacement battery at £170 (x 1. 80 for dollars ) because ours suddenly went from charge to dead in the space of two hours . We have to give the bad one in exchange for the new one when the DHL truck arrives .
I have to say , we did talk nicely to them . It works sometimes . Due tomorrow .

Shiny new battery arrived . Quite cool , no sign of boiling .
Mike
And suddenly , nobody was interested .
Obviously no scope for personal attacks .
Mike,
That post is close to deserving one of HJ’s Don’t Feed The Troll pictures.
You do enjoy stirring the pot don’t you.

You think so?
Perhaps Mike has a case of the Complex Regurgitative Anomaly Problem (Acronym: CRAP).
Nothing serious really; it will pass. Yes, it usually does!
Yes , Hans , usually out of your mouth .
Dave , did you post that all by yourself ? WOW
