Large Scale Central

To all the Challengers.

Great jobs, so far.

There is a lot I can learn from these projects. I didn’t join in this year because I’m in the middle of a big build of my own. (That’s really a lame excuse, huh?)

Anyway, keep up the great work. I’m looking forward to the grand finale!

We do our best John to provide interest and entertainment as well. Good or lame excuses are no problem here: you well know that most of the modelling guys here are a very tolerant and encouraging crowd.

If that were not so I doubt if I would have joined in. lol

Actually you are quite correct a lot can be learned in this place - that has been my experience anyway. It has to be the foremost large scale modelling Forum there is.

Thanks John, wish we could do two of these a year, Travis

ah, at last somebody started the “lame excuse thread”…

mine is, that i told myself, that i will not start any new projects, before i finished the dozen or so half-done projects on my workbench.

but i can already see, that this year there will be no easy judging. there are many very promising looking projects in the race.

Korm, I passed that “rule” a few years back when I had 31 projects in process. But I just had to participate in this build. I am down to 19 projects in process now, so I have made some progress.

My feelings exactly!

Korm - you stole my excuse. Maybe next year we can have a Finish an Unfinished Project Challenge

Great work so far - I’m having trouble keeping up though. The response this year is great.

Keeping up? Me too, Jon. I’m going to go thru each build at the end.

For now I’m going to praise all the contestants at one time, in one thread…This one.

Good work, guys! AAA+++

I’ll echo that…

I agree. It has been a joy watching all of these builds take shape! Good job, guys.

My excuse: I can’t find my work bench .
Great work so far!

I couldn’t find the work table either so I’m working at the table saw extension. I’ll clean up later!

I really need to get going on mine. I have a few other projects that need to get done. Hopefully very soon.

Is it cheating that we’re having such nice weather? I’m headed out to work on mine with the garage door open!

Cheating? Not when we pay for it in the summer… Mid 70s here.
Brag when you can.
John

I want to add my congrats to all of the contenders for the challenge crown. You guys really impress me. You take a simple seed, like a door, and grow it quickly into a fantastic project. It amazes me how fast you come up with these great concepts and then turn them into reality. Great ideas and great follow-through. I’m jealous. It takes me longer to decide how to draw up my plans than it take you to plan and execute the entire job. Maybe I’ll go looking for some of those magic napkins myself.

Bob

For what it is worth Bob, I had reservations about the Challenge. I wasn’t sure what to build but then I found the plans from Garden Railways that I had downloaded a while ago. I tend to have my inspirations when I am relaxing before getting up. Spiritual thoughts followed by railroad thoughts is a great way to start a day - even if it raining out there.
