Tis the Season

I didn’t use my pizza circle around the Christmas tree so…

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all my Train Buddies!

Back at you! I’ve been sick, so ‘tis the season to be wheezin’.

I like it. Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you and your family Todd.

Here in Oz, it’s nice and summery, so our group of train nuts got together yesterday for our Christmas party.

The weather for the party was ‘just right’ around 30C, but humid enough to make you wonder if your deodorant was up to the task.

Just as the ladies arrived with the ‘nibbles’ a loud ‘crack’ indicated that a tree had given away and landed on Ti-tree station. So it was all hands to the saws and pruners to get the track clear again. A number of (little) people were injured in this accident but as this is the 1950s, no-one was ‘offered counseling’ and no TV crews descended from the skies to interview witnesses who would have described it a ‘just like a bomb’.
With the arrival of the food and beverages, train operations reduced to a couple of trains chasing their tails around the yard.

Greg Looks like a great time was had by all. Nice to see the night running.

I noticed on the video at least one of your “Swivel Switches”. Neat Idea, and I’ve thought of building my own, based on your design. How are they holding up in normal operations?

A Happy, Healthy and above all, SAFE Holiday Season.

From our house to yours.

Nice vidoe Greg and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. It must be weird to have Christmas in the Summer down under. North of us got several inches of snow last night while here on the Cape it turned to rain. Noting for me to plow today :frowning:

Someone tell Fred Mills that a pair of hook and loops made it onto the train wreath LOL

Merry Christmas Todd

Enjoyed the video. Very nice night shots of the trains at work.

Merry Christmas.

Tom

Merry Christmass to all!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all…

whatever you want!

Thanks for the wish Lou. What I want is to win Megga Bucks tonight for a half billion. If I do I’ll buy you all a beer or 12! But I’m pretty sure I’ll jsut end up a few dollars poorer.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Don’t we all
If I don’t win…I hope you do.
It would be nice if one of us could buy the EBT

Nice photo Jon

Thanks. Not mine, but taken not too far from me in Kent, CT by John Bazan.

The swivel switches are OK if you can screw down all the 3 tracks that lead to it. They are great for inside locations - I’ve had them down inside for 15 years with never an adjustment. But the outside ones do need some maintenance every now and then to keep the rails lined up and level - a problem with all ‘stub’ type connections. I have some I will slowly get rid of, but others are fine so will be left. One of these outside ones has been there since day ONE and is still perfect. Others I have laid more recently are a problem! The best attribute is the short length they take up. (plus the cheapness and ease of construction - but what you gain in building time, you spend in installation time getting everything lined up.)

That’s agreat photo of the plow, Jon.

I do love the simplicity of street names in the US. I guess there is a library just nearby ???

I’ve seen quite a few Mechanic streets - what’s the history of that name??
