My wife and I are planning a vacation near Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Does anyone have any information, beyond the web page on this rail excursion?

Do you really want a answer?
Nah, I read the book and am waiting for the movement …er…movie.
Gorgeous area and the town of Wellsboro with it’s gas lit streets are wonderful. The RR has some old Baldwins and a beautiful trip. Spent many many hours, days, weeks in that area over the past 15yrs. You must see the PA Grand Canyon and the old Pennsy railbed below. You want the “Turkey Path” side not the tourist side. Jump on RT 6 and go.
We are camping in Grand Canyon of PA, have my Sunset Rail tickets on the TCRR, planning a day trip to the PA Lumber Museum, and old Shay and logging cars there. Fun, hiking and trains. Hoo-boy!
Back home from the trip to Wellsboro, PA.
We took a sunset ride on the Tioga Central RR. The motive power was from two Alco RS3’s, one a 1949 and one a 1950 build of 2000 hp and 1000 hp respectively. Some of the equipment came from C&N (?), the Tioga Central stuff was from Tioga New York. The line was originally built in 1836 (?) and extended, rebuilt in 1871 (?). In 1970 (?) the line was routed around the lake that was dammed by the Army Corps of Engineers for flood control. It was once part of the Lehigh Valley RR which explains the black diamond symbol behind the TCRR logo. I tried to record the horn, but needed to plug my ears so the camera is a bit off center.
All in all it was a fun ride,
Glad you had a good time.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
The video does look like it was shot by someone who spent too much time in the lounge car

Yes, I know im replying to an old thread!
but I just came across it…
I have some info on the Tioga Central here:
http://gold.mylargescale.com/Scottychaos/Owego/
if anyone is interested…
(a few minor corrections…they dont have any RS3’s, and they were originally in Owego, NY, which is in Tioga county, NY…
they are now in Tioga county, PA…
its a very confusing history!
