Rooster that says it all.
…winking…
If anyone thinks that I might have been aiming my comment at Ric, nothing could be farther from the truth.

Hope the water did not get into your house. Looks like we are in for more and even worst tomorrow and wed. We already had 3+ inches since last night. Another 4 possible till wed.

All in all I’d say, living almost at the top of our little hill, in a climate that generally sees “not enough rain” looks mighty good after seeing the pictures and listening to the News.
OTOH I put up with 18 years at the bottom of a large drain slope where a flooded basement was normal if our three sump pumps couldn’t cope. In short, I knew just what to look for.
Oh BTW what was on that list back in 1999?
-
High and dry
-
Town water and town sewage.
-
Excellent communication lines (telephone, TV and Internet).
-
A climate without mosquitoes, black flies and other such.
I had done my time as a “delayed pioneer”, didn’t get a T-shirt, but had made notes.
Resident wet nurse? Really?
Bob,
I live more or less due North of you know who, there has been a faint but distinct sound in the air. As a seasoned cyclist I’d say it sounds like someone is furiously backpeddling.
Rain here more or less for the last 24 hrs.
Glad I got the new roof on the house just in time.
However, nothing like our members along the mighty Missisip are going thru.
The Spokane River will crest tomorrow.

Hi David Russell:
I love the architecture of the brick house across the street from you. Was that house built in the 1700’s ? Original owner? Possibly British prior to the revolution?
Up here in Ontario we are being deluged with rain coming up from the United States. This is really weird weather.
Meanwhile in Slave Lake, Albert a high wind flash wildfire has just torched half of the town of 7,000 residents. Folks had only enough time to jump into their vehicles and flee for their lives. Even the downtown City Hall roof was torched. The hospital and schools have been spared for now. Fortunately no deaths.

WIKI said:Symptoms for squeamishness:
In contemporary affluent Western societies particularly affected by the successful marketing of infant formula, the act of nursing a baby other than one's own often provokes cultural squeamishness, notably in the United States and United Kingdom.
"Symptoms
When someone is feeling squeamish they may twitch or shiver. Twitching is very rare when people feel squeamish. If something really unsettles them, people may lose consciousness (pass out). Before this they may feel dizzy. Some may display visible skin pallor."
If one were so inclined, one could elaborate a bit on the infant formula and its marketing. Or on the relative skin pallor.
Come one folks, knock it off. How many times do I have to say this?

Hi Norman,
That home was built in the mid 1800’s and was recently restored about 10yrs ago. Ownership has changed many times in the 40yrs I have resided here. I’m a huge architecture fan myself and live in a restored victorian circa 1852.
The rain we have had recently has just been very heavy downpours in a very short period and the drainage system just can’t handle it. It takes about 5 minutes for the water too recede and then all is back to normal.

They should sell at a higher price as riverfront lots.
