Thomas get a Fix

This past Christmas Season I got a Thomas the tank for the Railroad. Got a great price on him. Well the first thing I did was call Barry Olsen to see if he could fit a drive in Thomas. I know I was going to brun the stock one up so I was hoping Barry could fix him. Well the good news is Barry can and did. Thomas also has the problem of no working lights. Barry also fixed that little problem as well. Here are the pictures and e-mail Barry sent me. "Geoff, The first pic is the overall view, the second is the same a bit closer. The third shows the tiny motor to drive the “eyes”. The fourth is the front head light and the last shows the back light also. Barry "

Note that Bmann has a gear box with 18 gears to make the eyes go back and forth that is driven off the old motor. Barry found a great way to make the eyes work. thanks Barry.

Cool…Thomas with a BBT drive.

For those familiar with Thomas stories and videos,

Does this mean Barry is “the Works”?

I’d be interested in the conversion! with added switch for eye on/off.

Geeze Gary, you've got your drug culture slang all mixed up. A "Fix" is an injection of Heroin :o

I guess “a fix” would be a dose of what ever you’re addicted to.
Drugs, women, booze, gambling.
Or if you’re Charlie Sheen…all of the above

I just want another Thomas Face

Sorry..... I can't help it...:(

Some other things about Thomas. I had a need for the slightly larger wheels that come with the new Thomas, Geoff Okayed the use of the standard Bachmann wheels, but I needed the Thomas color. So I shopped, started to think the color had been registered and not available. Checked my own inventory and found a spray can of Testors 1208 (I think) and seems to have matched pretty well. This move allowed me to shorten the wheelbase slightly and use my stainless steel siderods. The next one will be with the stock wheelbase and use the Thomas Side rod (plastic).
