Large Scale Central

This is train related

So I was cleaning my room making the transition to my hobby room and while cleaning i was sweeping the carpet with my hand of the big stuff before vacuuming. I found this in the carpet. It must have escaped while cutting the heads off sewing pins making rivets.

Needless to say this did not feel good. I tried pulling it myself but it hurt to damn bad and was stuck pretty good. Tried to get my sin to do it but I am a wimp and couldn’t take it. Went to urgent care so they could numb it. She had to give a pretty good tug because it was stuck pretty solid in the nail. All better now.

yee-freaking-ouch!

Damn, that’s like nailing your finger to a project with the brad nailer, that hurts too. Don’t ask.

Wow, Devon… That quite a finger “nail”… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

I may or may not have done something similar with a staple gun this summer.

I figured this group would understand. I bet most of us have been here in one way or another. Its not the first time I have done something like this and I doubt it will be the last.

What happened to your Marine Corps spirit? What is a sin?

Glad everything “came out” all right. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Devon, no carpet in a hobby room. How are you supposed to find the small bits when you drop them?(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Heck I even haver a wood floor in my hobby room and half the time can’t find them.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

I was less of a Marine and more of a Girl Scout when it came to pulling that out.

I hate when that happens …(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

That is why I am moving. When I got kicked out of the basement so my son could move in there I became homeless. So I set up shop in our bedroom “temporarily” until my new hobby room could get set up. Well its been two years and counting but I am finally getting moved. There will be no carpet in the hobby room.

I’m currently replacing the old insect wire mesh around the house crawlspace and attic so doing alot of laying out and cutting of 1/4" wire mesh, and despite wearing gloves have managed to get cuts scrapes and pokes on every digit of both hand, including a cut right at the nail on both thumbs in the same place which makes picking up anything a real joy. I will suggest once you wash it and its dry place a little Zap-Gap CA over the wound, let that dry then put a bandaid over it. It helps keep the wound from moving its brushed against anything, the main source of post-pain for cuts and pokes, it also helps keep things out of the wound until it can heal.

That wire mesh is wicked brutal stuff. Its worse than barbed wire. It will chase you and attack you even if you leave it alone and don’t look at it.

Nice thing about this is its already healed over. nice little poke

Devon, that hurts just looking at it. I had a friend get a treble hook through his finger just like that and he asked me to pull it out That was a mistake on his part but needless to say it came out (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)I did clip the barb off first.

Wow, Devon. That definitely causes sympathy pain. Then my dark humor kicked in and I wondered if it managed to distract you from your drainage issues…

Glad you got it taken care of. Yikes!

It was a nice distraction. I am kind of a sick puppy when it comes to stuff like this. My second reaction (after yelping like a cat that was just stepped on) was to tell my wife to go get my son, he need to see this. And then my third reaction while writhing in pain (okay that’s a dramatic over statement) was quick take a picture.

This is the stuff of memories
