I’m thinking about doing this as my first 1:32 scale kit. Not sure if there is any interest though.
You might look at what trains are available as 1/32nd and have a figure that would be appropriate to the era of those trains. This guy looks great but might not fit the time frame of most of them. I’d like to see some 1950’s era people in 1/32 and 1/29, for passenger cars.
Jerry,
That’s the cool thing about mens clothing, it hasn’t changed much in over 100 years. The lapels go from wider to narrower as do the other parts of the suit and there are always individuals who are not dressed at the height of fashion. I’m only 59 and I knew older folks in the 50s who still wore spats like that. I guess they felt like it set them apart from the rest of the folks.
I guess I’d like people in more casual garb. Not railroad workers either, just people sitting/standing. Average stuff.

Your figures are outstanding… but maybe you should mass produce on a 10’ rule lowering the cost?
Just a thought and if I need to stand in the corner for a time out I will!

It would be nice to fill up my 1:32 and 1:20.3 passenger cars with riders.
But you can’t see much detail from the waist on down. So you are right, Roost.
I need a bunch of “economy” figures. You can get a bunch from China, but there’s only four or five different ones.
Now on the other hand, for a 1:20.3 logging diorama I am planning, nicely detailed loggers would be a necessity. Calk boots and all. I don’t need too many of those.
I’ll go stand in the opposite corner…
@ jb and Rooster… finally, in the corner.

David, my production costs are what drives the price, not the detail. I’ve been producing kits now and a kit is more expensive than the one part figures I created in the past. If I had to lower my detail to sell figures, I just won’t sell figures. Its not about selling more, its about selling what I want for my own layout. I figure if I’m going to spend a lot of time buying or making a model that is as detailed as the prototype, then I want figures that are the same.
If I’m wrong for thinking that, then maybe I should be standing in the corner. I’ve already stopped producing 7/8th scale figures because they cost too much to make. I could stop right now and just offer what I already have and I’d say that was a pretty decent collection of figures to offer.
As far as 1/32 I am going to try one figure. It will be a kit, it will be a guy setting dressed in a suite and tie and hat and kicking back very casually.
Here is a link to the image of the guy on face book. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/884297_582877175058420_241721565_o.jpg
If he doesn’t sell, he doesn’t sell and I will stand in the corner in 1/32.
He looks like Bogie. Who’s the dame?
Richard, you are making sense, and don’t need to stand in the corner. After I looked over your site, I did see some “lower cost” figures. Keep making them.
Understood Richard!
Keep up the beautiful work!
John,
Shes just a dame and he’s just a guy
