Thinking about build a scale down coaling tower. Need some input

Wow, not exactly what I was thinking of as scaled down. Nice sheet metal work.

I ran across a pic of the slimmest coaling tower pic I have seen. I believe it was B&O.

OK so some one wanted a smaller round one and here you go!!! Going to replace the 8"pipe with a 10’ on and make the top for it next and buff the welds out and off to the powder coaters…

Had some spare time to do some more work on the coaling tower… Going to weld the chutes and the funnels together next and then work on the lift tower part…

Really nice work… Just make sure the shutes clear all the engines and rolling stock… :slight_smile:

in the pics the chutes are hanging down about 1/2 from were they are going to be welded in place. For double stacks and modern car carriers they wont fit…

Maybe double stacks and modern car carriers don’t need any coal! :wink:
