Thing we learn!

Well the rotary snow blower was tried today!
As some people observed, the big do hicky did push snow.
When it was taken off,the blower did throw snow even without a chute.
I think I cut the opening for the chute just right.
Had some traction problems .
Ice 20’s with cold snow!!
I did leave engine 's out over night.

Good afternoon Sean,
I like the SNOWBLOWER project very much and after reading this thread I went back and reviewed the photo’s from the other thread and saw the problem. I see in the photo’s that you have a FLAT AREA between the impeller and the side of the structure. If that flat area was removed from the structure so that the FUNNEL started at the EDGE of the black impeller housing you would cure your problem. By removing this area there would be NO flat area for the snow to build up against and the snow would be funneled into the impeller. I also would install some sort of pin, bar or whatever to the center shaft to help break down the snow and also it would prevent a build up agenst that area.
This is just my 2 cents.
p.s. our snowstorm turned into a rain storm at 04:00 this A.M.

Ron it works great with just the black tube!
I have to try to get an edge on the bottom.

It works with the smaller area!!

Looking good Shan,
