Large Scale Central

They've been working on the railroad

… on a hot summer day.

Waiting for the Rocky Mountaineer to get to Lillooet; a parade of “Dwarf” equipment came off the mountain - as I found out they were replacing ties somewhere around Pavilion - and proceeded across the bridge. Quitting time!
Must have been nice and toasty that day working on the track with the heat streaming off the ballast.
It was hot enough just sitting there - in the shade of my umbrella - and having a cool drink.

That’s it for this week … 5GB is the weekly upload limit on VIMEO and there is just a smidgen left. Not enough for what I have ready.

Lessee, I think there's a recipe for bantam rooster around here somewhere. To get back on track, I'm enjoying HJ's videos. Made note of how that PW equipment came down the line with plenty of spacing between each vehicle, and the one pickup running in reverse.

Yup. I thought the reverse pick-up was kinda strange. Must not have been a crossing or any place he could turn around.

Yes, there was some radio chatter about the “Mech” truck backing down. The last Hi-Railer pick-up is the track inspector, that guy is up and down the mountain all the time. Down ahead of the Mountaineer and the freight that followed, back up before the other freight started North. Must be piling on the miles just doing inspections; but it’s good to know, too many screw-ups between Squamish and Clinton in the past.

That’s some pretty spectacular scenery (hardshell or carved foam??) .
Seriously though, I think I’d be a bit intimated riding an open vehicle across a narrow bridge that high up. Very cool stuff HJ.
