They call it progress VOT

Looks/sounds like OPERA has been acquired by Google. I found that out the hard way i.e. ran into problems with Adblock Plus quitting to block the $#@* on FaceBook, but no such problems with Chrome. When I went to look at the newer versions of Opera I find out that some key functions are gone - stuff that had been there for a long time - but interestingly it is now available on Chrome.

I guess it’s time for a change. Some wag apparently said that change is what keeps us going … he just didn’t mention that it keeps us going mad.

Oh yeah, it has been a “very interesting week”, started on Sunday and hasn’t let up since.

Just switched from Opera to Firefox 'cause I was tired of my web mail not being able to add attachments unless I was using chrome instead. I miss the little magnifier in the bottom right corner.

I got rid of Firefox’s “highly recommended” Ask toolbar 'cause it insisted on showing the temperature in Oakland CA. Couldn’t find how to change it, and anything I could find about Ask toolbar was how to remove it, using system cleanup malware. So I went to control panel and uninstalled it there.

Almost two weeks on. In the meantime I backdated OPERA to ver12.02; Chrome and Firefox are strictly for some of the mail. Adblock changed ver1.0.8.

So far so good, everything works as expected.

HJ,

what I found amusing when I initially uploaded AdBlock was that their website specifically pointed out that ‘pop-up’ links to farcebook and other demeaning sites would be blocked.

Surprisingly, also on the site was a note telling AdBlock users to promote AdBlock on their farcebook page. Kind of having your cake and eating it too.

Nah, that’s smart marketing. Facebook users will benefit the most from Adblock, might as well go where the largest, most appreciative crowd is. Facebook without Adblock is “cruel and self-inflicted punishment”.
