The Tree Crusher

A machine I have never encountered before. A very interesting story and some provocative narration that makes you stop and think about what is being said.

This is not meant to be a detraction of the tree crusher, but only to put some things into perspective. The tree crusher weighed 30 tons, our smaller steam locomotive at the tourist railroad weighed 45 tons. The average train weighed about 450 tons, and that would be considered a light train.

At Mack Trucks in the 1970s, the largest model off-highway truck, the M75sx, had a haul capacity of 75 tons. 30 tons is impressive, but a lot of stuff out there makes 30 tons look lightweight.

Yeah, I tried to tell my ex-wife that years ago.
