The travels of Terry Foley (TAC)

Terry and his young wife Gaylor, popped into Canadian air space, and landed at Ottawa International Aerodrome, on Monday of this week (April 30th)
Most of this week I’ve tried to assist them get around the town, although they are very active , and enjoy walking. We toured the back shop at the Museum of Science and Technology, and paid our respects to a number of good restraunts and pubs. This morning, Friday), I delivered them safely to the aerodrome, to pick up a rental automobile, for their trip to visit relatives in the Trenton Ontario area. They may return on Sunday for a visit to the big train show, or I may see them later in the week when they return to fly away home.

We did have one afternoon/evening, here at the IPP&W, looking the pike over, and having lunch and dinner, also an evening with neighbours by the cement pond, and the chimnia fired up for added warmth.

They send good wishes to everyone on LSC, and to all of the friends they have made here in Canada, and the USofA.
Terry will be back on as soon as he finds time to fire up his 'puter.....

This is all good news. Thanks, Friar. Meanwhile, good luck to all in Ottawa with this weekend’s BIG show.

Down here we’re having our COGRA (Central Ontario Garden Railway Ass’n) swap meet on Saturday. This is one of the funnest events of our year.

The recent unending rains - three weeks of them - blowing thru Toronto have put a serious cramp in my backyarding, and in preparations for the Open House here later this month. Fortunately the gang is very understanding, and it’s more about getting together than anything else! Ha ha!

Sunny today, though, and several days’ good weather are at last in the forecast, so I’m spending some time out there today wringing things out to dry and moving accumulated yard junk off to the sidelines and out of the way.

Then maybe, just maybe, I’ll be able to make a start on that long-delayed freightyard of mine that we were talking about. You have no idea how anxious I am to get started on THAT project at last…

And how happy I’ll be to make and break up trains and classify freightcars there later this summer. Something BIG to look forward to. BTW., we just got a really good brand new bed for the guestroom.

Thanks for the info Fred. See? I told you the internet was faster than the bonfires in the watch towers clear across the continent!

Please give Terry & Gaynor my regards. Looking forward to their next trip out west.

And John: it looks like your experience this year is the same as mine. I’m only now getting started for the year down here in coastal Oregon. Good luck on your freight yard.
