Large Scale Central

The Toenail Ridge gets a new depot

Built from plywood, ripped down pallet timber and cedar panelling…

Nice lookin structure Pkil. Whats the one opening at the end with the grating an exhaust vent? Can we get a better view?

For a moment, and after a few drams of good Holy Water, I thought it read; “A new DESPOT, on the Ridge”. I immediately looked for another “Chapter” of the Saga…oh well, I guess our young Phil, instead of writting, and maintaining the history of Toenail Ridge, is now building the Ridge, board by board, as a carpenter.
It actually looks like he has some skills in this trade as well…nice work.

That looks great.

Nice start Phil. That’s going to be a beauty.

I like the louvers on the freight side window and the 2 over 2 window’s all around. Not to mention the Gothic style stick work.

Have made a start on the platform canopy…

Re that window with the bars…it’s the office for the freight shed and keeps the bad guys out…

Freight shed steps in place…

Nice Phil. On your lap siding what did you scribe it with. Looks like maybe a small gouge?

Nice looking depot, Phil…

Phil,

Did you get a new camera for Christmas or is this just those new vitaminians kick’n in? Bid’n on EBay, building models of stations, casting molds. Wew, I’m worn out.

Ric, we’ve been in our new house 18 months now and finally things are settled enough that I get some ‘me’ time, that’s why the progress and yes, I did just buy a camera

Absolutely gorgeous! Now I feel like a hacker… Are you going to teach a build class sometime?

You want one? Jeez, everyone here is way too experienced for that! I did build classes on the GR site way back when for the newbies but LSC members hardly need that!

Phil,

Your work is alway inspiring. Yes, some of us have read those prior articles, but you do have a way with words. Good postings.
