The Swivelling Viaduct

The old maxim “location, location, location” can be annoying when you need to bridge a busy walkway to get from staging in the garage to the elevated part of the railway. The frame for the bridge has been around for 7 years and the required reinforcements - 2" angle iron at the base - were installed last year. Now it’s time to get the rest done. Stage 1

The Basics: Stone arch bridge, on a 90º curve of 5ft radius. Material 2" styrofoam. On the German fora they swear by cladding the styrofoam with flexible tile glue and working the stone patterns into that, then paint. I’ll give that a try with a smaller piece, like a tunnel portal, to see how “easy” the method is.
