I will try Noel, This is very busy show and we are 75% sold out all ready. Stop by if you guys can… Great Fun Day… Nick
Hey Nick, ever think about a show in July or August?
Dennis,
I thought about it but most of the buildings around here we have to choose from dont have A/C and it would make it a very Hot day.
There are no other Train shows around that I know of that do summer events because I was told its to hot for a train show Plus with all
the other things people do over the summer I dont think a Train show would do well during those months, I could be wrong. We will
see how things go in the future so it’s possible.
Nick
As of yesterday the show IS SOLD OUT, vendor wise… gonna be another Great Show guys,
For you Northeast guys, stop by on your way home from York…
I should be their. Looks like a good show cant wait.

New update, We are thinking about adding a Ride on Thomas type ride for the parking lot, never seen one before what do you think ?
would your kids enjoy that type of ride? does cost $2.00 per child to ride…

Nick,
The Thomas ride might attract quite a few children if it’s properly advertised. So if you want to make money for the club, it might work.
But I’m also thinking that many parents who bring their children for Thomas may never make it inside.
So, if it’s to promote the show, you may or may not get the desired results.
Ralph
Ralph,
That was my concern as well, I’m looking into a way of maybe blocking in the area so you can only get to it by going into the show.
But still can see it from outside.
Nick
Show is sold out should be a great one, dont forget to stop and say Hi…
Nick- You’ve got mail.

This is deffo the way to go IMHO, Nicholas. I think people would expect to pay a little extra on top of show admission for something like that. I hope the club got a share of the gate for it!
I know I’m late posting here, but for next time. - I’ve been out of town at the Lindsay Ont Show all weekend.
I am really glad to see more initiatives for kids’ involvement gradually getting included at these shows, what they call ‘interactive’ nowadays, setups that young folk can operate themselves. It would probably be good to have setups for teenagers and adults to operate also - more switching puzzles, simple layouts, hand the controls over to the spectators, and the like.
I think this is the only way to grow the hobby in the long run, or to keep it alive in any case, and I believe the clubs ought to start taking this challenge seriously and quickly - before it’s too late! There’s gotta be a limit to how much ‘roundy-roundy’ we can expect the public to stand around behind barriers just passively watching…

Nick: anything in L.S. happening in Kingston & environs this weekend? (july 20-22) . I’m going to be in the area Fri nite thru Sun aft… pretty busy with family matters. Ticks me off that I can’t be in Ottawa! But I would love to squeeze something in down your way if possible.
Sorry John, Nothing that I know of this weekend. If I was going to be home you could have stopped by and checked out the new layout under construction you would be the 1st to see it from the forums and we have one loop complete, but we are on our way down to key west to do some fishing tomorrow. You could stop by the Trolley Museum and the Catskill mountain RR both in Kingston are doing rides this weekend. Nick
