Large Scale Central

The Oregon & California RR and logging outfit

This is a project to create a consist of rolling stock for my mother in law to replicate the Oregon and California Railroad that ran through Oakland Oregon. She has wanted a train running in the store front window of their hardware store in Oakland, OR. The first train we gave her for Christmas 2 years ago. I found a Heisler, log cars and logging caboose on Ebay. I then got Stan Cedarleaf to make me some decals. Here are pictures and a short video of that project:

Combine Car / Before & After

Big Hauler tender / Before & After

The whole consist

I then found an old LGB 2028D Mogul on Ebay, got Stan once again to make some decals I designed and sent it to her in time for Thanksgiving this past year.

I finally received the pictures of the layout they had in the store window for christmas. She ordered some wood from Garden Textures and my father in law built the Oakland Station from scratch referring to old photos. He also made a water tower and wharehouse (which is still standing today).

The whole project can be found on my website http://timothydehan.com/redmondcreekrr/oregoncalproject.htm

Very nice looking equipment your mother-in-law has there, she can be very proud. I’m sure you are the favorite son-in law.
