I bashed this 45 tonner as I was looking to create a smaller industrial looking loco.
Major changes were a new frame to lower loco and narrowing loco to 8’3’’ as well as lowering the cab to 6’10’'to peak of roof.

A few more pics
Overall the loco has been lowered 5/16’’, narrowed by 3/4’’ and cab lowered by 5/8’’ The project took about 40 + hours. The frame constuction added a fair amount of time to the project. The loco has been recently sold and soon will be hard at work on Clem’ s Warrior Run Railroad
Clem was showing me your handiwork, Dave. I was able to chat quite a bit with him, he’s a good guy. Nice job on the bash. I have already shared my thoughts on the contest in my diorama thread.

Dave, I like it. I really like the touch of the little ringy-dingy on the side, there. It adds class.
Was this the year for rust and junk?
Dave, Real professional looking job. Mine always show some flaws.

Very nice loco David. You should have entered this in the One to 20 Point Me Bachman Bash contest.
Jon Radder said:I think Dave's bash intention was to scale it down to a SG profile.

Dave, I took a look at what I wrote, and it is too easy to misunderestimate… or something…
What I intended to say was… Was this the year that rust and junk had to be included to have a chance of winning? You, Sir, have created a fine model.
Up close and personal handling of these art projects Dave builds is the best way to really appreciate the level of detail and quality of workmanship he puts into all his work. (You should see his workbench. It is neater and cleaner than my kitchen counter top.)
Guys,Thanks for the compliments on loco. My goal on the loco was to take it from what it was (a standard gauge loco w/ narrow gauge trucks ) and make it look as if it had been built to typical narrow gauge width and height specifications. I modeled it in 1:20.3 but it was small enough that it would look correct with 1:22.5 equipment as well. It still is huge compared to a USA Trains 44 tonner.
Jerry, I have flaws in my builds too…thats what they make putty for!!!
Steve,I know what you meant about rust and junk…some how overjunking is in vogue this year!!
Jon, Thats the contest I had it in. I outneated myself and lost!!!
Dave,I’ve eaten at your house ,is there a cleanliness issue I need to worry about? (just kidding) Actually , you caught the workbench on a good day.
I really like that!!
