The Official Summer Running Photo Thread

I can’t beleive no one has started this yet…or if they did…I missed it…I actually got some train time in over the Fourth of July…

Nice Bart. Good to see you up and running. How did you make out with those storms a few weeks ago?

Summer’s been a little too warm to be playin outside, however I did have a great time during the Invasion.

Its too warm its too cold. Ill have to send you a Pacifier. :) You are a wimp Ken :) You should just build a greenhouse over the layout and then you can control the temp. Nothing stops us mountain boys. ;)

This is the time of year I run at 6 a.m. or 7 p.m. I am getting quite a bit done – if I can do it in front of the cooler!

Nice pics Bart, good to see you using the layout now

Couple of cold iced teas is all the pacifier I need and an air conditioned room to drink them in (or a nice shady tree). ............;)

Ugh I now how that feels. We had no power for 7 days after the hurrican and then again after the snowstorm in oct. I bet Jon can relate.

Fer shure dude  Best part of the power outage was the low electric bill and the $100+ rebate for inconvenience that the state forced on them

Might get some running pictures soon. I’ve been out there, but doing switching operations without the camera. Did a little (very little - about 3 feet) track work last evening. Today is a low humidity day so I might get out this evening.

Jeez, I wish South Dakota would do that to the power companies.

I live out in the sticks and am the last guy on the grid. There is no one beyond me, so I get my power back last. I get brownouts frequently. We had a mild winter so I didnt loose power this year, but usually I can expect loosing power for a couple days every winter.

I have a large generator for backup. So I can run my well pump and the hot water heater, plus a few lights. I just have to be careful how much power I try to use at once.

It was kind of a tricky deal. You had to be out of power for more than 7 days (most didn’t qualify) and you had to make application by a cut-off date. Most people didn’t learn about it until after the cut-off date when news coverage was better. That was good for me because it was a pool shared equally, but not so good for the hundreds of folks who missed out because it wasn’t big news until the payout amount was announced. By then it was too late to apply.

And, just to bring this back on-topic. It was early fall snow and outdoors was a mess so I didn’t run outdoors, but to keep from going stir crazy, with no TV or computer, I did run some switching ops in the basement on battery power

What is this, a silent movie…
I think the last silent movies were made by Andy Warhol in the 60’s
And he sure was a strange bird
