Large Scale Central

The MRR World has lost a supplier...hopefully temporarily

I just read that Woodland Scenics had a pretty extensive fire.

I hope that they recover, for I have used their products in the past, as I’m sure most of us had at one time or another…

Yup that sucks, They have some nice stuff.

Thats really to bad, news said it was the largest employer in there area,
but I’m sure they’ll rebuild as soon as they can.
There my sourse for ground foam for flocking evergreen trees,(indoor)layout,
as well I use there water products,
in smaller scales I’ve bought alot of there little people over the years.
I ordered some ground foam this morning from hobbylinc,
in case of shortages in the near future.

Buy a foam mattress, a meat grinder and some dye, just like we did in the old days. Remember them?

Now I just gotta remember where I put that meat grinder. I hope SWMBO didn’t throw it out.

Just in case.

Steve;

If all else fails, you can sometimes find really good meat grinders at second-hand shops. A couple of years ago, our meat grinder was failing. I found a meat grinder from the 1930s at a second-hand shop for $23 that was actually far superior to our failing meat grinder from the 1980s.

Never fear!

We have a large one and a small one ready to roll, I just hate the dust and the time it takes to dye and dry the foam.
BTW that tin-coating wears quickly i.e. forget about the sausages you planned on producing later.

This just posted at another site:

"Dear all,

As you may have heard we have experienced a fire here at Woodland Scenics and there is good news and bad news. The good news is that no one was hurt during the fire or evacuation process. The bad news is that it took out a couple of our manufacturing buildings. However, and fortunately, there is more good news than bad.

We encompass multiple buildings that are spread out all over the town of Linn Creek. We only lost two of those buildings and those two contained just a small portion of our manufacturing facilities. Our shipping department, warehouse and corporate offices were spared any damage, as were most of our manufacturing buildings, so it is business as usual.

Thanks for all your concerns.

Respectfully,

Gale Cousins
Director of Sales & Customer Service
Woodland Scenics"

You may not need those meat grinders after all.

“forget about the sausages you planned on producing later.”

Also believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said, " The public should be protected from seeing sausages and laws being made!"
