Large Scale Central

The LSC Chat room

What has happened to the Chat room ?

How can we attrack more people to join in and share their experienses ?

There is a loyal few that join in, but there should be more “New blood” to bring back an interest in chatting.

Any suggestions…besides cutting off the free booze and soft drinks !!!

Spring is getting closer, and activities in the garden will soon be a topic for conversation…chat about your plans for this new season…give others, new ideas…solve problems…you might even find a way of bribing SWMBO, to let you expand the line through her rock garden…all over in the chat room, where we can all join in real time, solving problems…!!!

what are the chat times?
I have been in there a few times but no one seems to be there when I am.

It used to be at 21:30 EST, most evenings. Thursday evening was designated “Chat Night” for a long while.
There are a few that chat in the early afternoon, most week days.

You would be most welcome, and would not be abused !!!!

To be a bit candid, I’ve come on a few times, and very little train stuff was discussed, and there were more pictures than words…

I know that people have different goals on chat, but I like to talk trains…

The avatars and pictures make it so you can “see” very little of the chat when it’s going…

So, I visit once in a while, but not as much fun or interesting as the MLS one…

let the flames begin!

Regards, Greg

Greg…go ahead and talk trains…if I’m there, I’ll join in…

Well… Both of my computers failed and I only have internet at work. Seems silly to go home for supper and back to work.

Greg,

A picture is worth a thousand words…

Oh we’re always happy to talk trains…but the conversation drifts from point to point…much like your average barroom discussion…jump right in with yer own topic…we don;t mind…us regulars know each other well enough we don;t have to talk about it! heheheheheh

I frequent MLS also. Its no better when it comes to strictly train topics.

For my 2 cents worth, I dont care for the chat room program here, I prefer a room that automaticly updates, not one that I have to click on a button to get the new messages. I am usualy over in the MLS chat each night, they also have a regular crew in each night. I also chat with my fellow cub cadet tractor restoration friends each nite. They used a program called Chatzy for a long time till the x-7 chat room on the main website was fixed. I think a new chat program that automaticly posts each new post and not one that you have to constantly click on a button to get the newest posts would help. Also, developing a regular area of time when folks are in there. On the MLS and Cub Cadet chats, usualy around 8-9pm guys will start showing up, that is eastern time, and it will get very busy from 10-11 on the cub cadet group as most live in the eastern time zone, and the MLS chat will get busy from 11-almost 1am as many live out west, which is 3 hours behind us. Cheers Mike T

WOW! a fellow Cub Cadet collector right here on LSC.

I’m not a big chatter. I drop by on occasion when things are slow at work, or if I’m really bored at home. I like the manual update because I can leave it for 10 minutes and not loose a conversation because it’s scrolled off the page.

There are advantages to the auto update though - makes it easier to lurk.
