Hi all,

Thatâs what I would like to know, too. Is it possible thatâs now LGBoAs job to publish??
BTW the GE diner is also a repaint, dressed up Pano.

The American List is due to be released in two weeks at the start of the New York Toy Fair.
Rumour has it 60 items for the U.S. will be on the list.
The Lone Railroader
60 more repaints, or maybe an RPO in the old NG passenger lineâŚIâll not hold my breath.
A âreliable sourceâ told me there was a new US steam loco coming. As far as repaints goes every manufacturer puts out items in new paint schemes every year. Do you expect new tooling for every new item? I think thatâs expecting a bit much!

And based on a thread I started at MLS and a response back from LynchâŚI think that this is the engineâŚ
I am surmising based on the exchange of âwhat is nextâ in LS engines.
Just needs a pilot and trailing truckâŚthatâs all.
Geez guys, câmon! A YEAR is usually considered a pretty short period of time to bring ANY new product from design to marketâŚand you are expecting the new owners at LGB to come up with a whole bunch of them in a monthâs time? Are you THAT unreasonable? or do you just like to bash LGB and/or hear yourselves gripe?
Idea! If you donât like what LGB is currently offering, put up YOUR OWN money and have the items you want built as a limited run?..maybe youâll sell outâŚand maybe youâll hear everybody else gripe âWhy didnât you do it THIS way?ââŚ(Note: this is just directed at a few of youâŚyou know who you are)

Try pulling the other one. It has bells on it.

If it looks like a lot of repaints, it most likely is a lot of repaints (just like the duck).
Now on the NEW product front, LGB indicates a RhB Ge 6/6" for 2008. Well wouldnât you know that KISS just delivered a plastic version of that engine!?!
Now that kind of duplication I call just plain dumb. Of course LGB has done that with other items, too. Wasnât any smarter and certainly wasnât cheap. Of course in the bargain the LGB car was also less prototypical than the KISS car. Plain dumb!
The idea of producing rolling stock is very good, as I promised (threatened ) the members on the RhB Forum, thatâs what Iâll do when I win big in the lottery.
PS it will be interesting to see whatâs on the NA list.

Bells, huh? (edited for content)

Iâm trying to say the old company was in financial difficulties, for a long while it seems⌠and yes, it is quite possible, probable even, that they didnât HAVE the spare capital lying about for much new product development. People operating in CYA mode are looking at today, not tomorrow. At any rate, what you see is their efforts, NOT the new managementâs so IMO you should cut the new guys some slackâŚNEXT year will tell the tale much better.Bells, huh? (edited for content)
BTW regarding that âslackâ at EPL GmbH & Co KG; the most often read/heard comment from people connected to the industry is âletâs see how they manage the first yearâ Sometimes itâs phrased a bit differently.
IMO the first indicator will be availability of track at the beginning of the GRR season. We shall see!

Ahh!! Yes. But will the track LGB offer actually be made by LGB in Germany?
Wonât it be great if we canât buy any good quality mass produced switch tracks for our layouts- WooHoo!
And some fell on stony ground .

It would be a real bummer for the Code332 fraternity.
A âbummerâ for the majority of garden railroaders?
John Joseph Sauer said:I have no idea what the majority of them use, haven't seen any figures listed either. But I know that there are alternatives out there in Code332 brass.
A "bummer" for the majority of garden railroaders?
If the supply in brass should get a little tighter one could always try stainless steel, gets rid of a lot of cleaning/oxidation problems. Doesnât look as âgoldenâ, but there are people who âdonât mind the lookâ.
In addition there is Code250 or, heaven forbid, Code215. Code 250 looks really good for both NG and SG. And since âCurmudgeonâ runs it successfully in his ârainforest climateâ in WA he may comment on the suitability.
If there should be a shortage the Europeans have it a lot easier, plenty of alternatives! Both in brass and stainless steel. And for those who like proto geometry thereâs Thiel with a very, very nice selection.
PS Donât forget: The Aristo-Track Sale is also just around the corner! When I do track planning with pre-fab track Iâm always acutely aware just how much more radii selection there is in the Aristo line.
PPS Are any of the mentioned/alluded to alternatives âelephant proofâ? I donât really know, we donât have elephants in our neighbourhood.
