The backlog hasn’t cleared yet and at least in some provinces and states there’s another bumper crop on the way/being harvested.
Hmmmm let’s see how this works out
I guess I should go down to Spences Bridge, Friday looks good, to check how the traffic flows.
In the “calling a spade a spade” category (and being right on the mark).

On-site “inspection”: Sunny and 21ºC for the Thompson Canyon on Saturday.
Great article HJ, thank you for posting it.
I find it interesting that North Dakotans elect their Agriculture Commissioner.
I wonder how many states hold elections for that type of position.

Wouldn’t be a bad idea for most states that have a big percentage of agri production, being elected often means listening to those who elected you.
And here the pressure North of the border.

LMAO!!!
Being elected means they are going to do what they want. They lied to get elected … both sides are slinging it.
David,
The required TiC smiley has been added.
It isn’t just the grain producers that are affected.

On the part that CP and CN moved a substantial number of cars to Canada, watch the grain trains in the videos I shot on 2014/10/05. I was amazed by how many US cars were in the consists.
There does seem to be a crisis for north American railroads. A bumper grain harvest affecting farmers, the ND oil shipments, and now Minnesota is getting short on deliveries of coal by rail. The Minnesota taconite producers, are it seems, trucking their product to the Twin Ports of Duluth and Superior as rail is unable to cope.
I wonder if the proposed CP/CSX merger is a way of focusing minds away from the real issues?

I wouldn’t put it past the “Hunter”, he’ll try anything to weasel his way out of a jam. Last year when they had a tank car derailment in Calgary he called the first responders a bunch of lazy coffee drinkers (I’m paraphrasing) because they wouldn’t wade right in there before they knew what was loaded in those tank cars.
This was after the bridge collapse during the massive flood, when CP Rail was of the opinion that commerce was more important than safety and a visual inspection was plenty good enough since the flow of the Bow prevented divers from inspecting the bridge piers - extremely high flow and very high turbidity. But hey, that bridge must be just OK.
Yep, the “Hunter” is a very fine piece of work.
Maybe it’s time for “The Hunter” to become “The Hunted”.
or just the ousted
Would this be like reading them the riot act?

And the STB sets a precise date for the reply. That should get someone’s attention at CP Rail, eh!
