It took a long time, but it had to happen one day. Today is the day: the last piece of Llagas flex track has been installed. THAT’S IT!
Others have Golden Spikes, I have Golden Joiners.
When they were building the 1:1 railways, driving that last spike didn’t mean the trains would roll right-a-way, same here. Next up on the list: electrical infrastructure e.g. DCC bus, CAN bus, distribution boxes, track feeder wires plus a local control panel for Thusis.
Plenty more to do, no rest for the wicked.
Why did I choose DCC?
Since I already had a ZIMO system (for the HOm layout) with plenty of umph and a gazillion features, that multiplied rapidly as I was building, going any other route would have meant duplication and missing out on features. Just in case someone meant to ask.
