30 miles south of Ric, there was no snow, no ice, and just a touch of sleet… Rifle shots from bambi hunters ring the air… The dawg however, born in november and outside, on the wife’s parents farm , just loves this time of the year… Sun did come out, and even with the temperature of 27, the sun was enough to melt some ice, that formed on the ground from the rain…

Bambi’s head is boiling in the pot to deskin it.
Boys use the clean white skull has a coat rak.
I look forward to the steaks.
Marty,
Did you get the waether out there on the plains? The cold front has now moved through and our temps will drop to single digits tonight. Expect lake or at least marina to freeze tomorrow night. 70 on Wednesday and cold by tonight. Wow, I love to watch the weather patterns.
Marty…
I wouldn't mind a few steaks myself, however, I've never taken up hunting... Jane's brother usually had vennison back on the farm, and was good... Course, Squirrel was great, too.. When her Dad raised Hogs, we usually got one for Christmas, all we had to do, was pay for processing.... Couldn't beat it....
Sometimes we get frost at night here when it still several degrees above freezing. How is that possible?
Its cold alright, no snow.
Deer meet with famous Daves seasoning is great over the grill.
Today Donny and a few club meembers are coming over to learn how to build switches, inside.
Bubba is bring hot choclate.
We may run but the wind is bad now.
work has slowed real bad. Bums me out everytime.
Marty,
It may bum you out right now, but in your old age I hope you remember your time running trains and showing people how to build turnouts over the time you spend putting on roofs. You know if you get enough 98.6 bodies in your building you don’t need heat.
We put up the modular layout at a car dealership today in Belleville. Closer to St. Louis. The ice storm was real bad over there and a lot of club members are without power, as was the car dealership. The new dealership had real big windows facing south and though cool when we went in there, by the time the layout was up, it was toasty. We’ll have to go back to check the power to the track, when it comes back on. The big temp drop comes tonight. Lake, or at least the harbor, may freeze before morning. Such is December in this part of the World.
The weather here has been typical December. Got home Thurs. nite from Miami it was close to 70. Fri the wind picked up and rainned off and on all day. By Fri nite it was down into the 30’s. and still windy. I had to deliver my load Sat morning up in Clarks Summit, Pa and hit more wind after going through Lehigh Tunnel. By the time I got home at lunchtime the wind had died and although it was in the 40’s it looked like a beautiful fall day.Spent most of saturday in the wood shop working on a entertainment center for the basement rec room. Haven’t done much train stuff other than putting together some rail and ties I ordered from C&OC RR. This is for the inside storage yard area. Soon as I’m done with the wood project I can spend the winter getting the yard area the way I want it. And with all this going on my old computer took a dump, so talked to a friend of mine who works on them and he suggested a few things but couldn’t get it back working. So relunctantly I had to go shopping for a new one.
Looks like today will find me back in the wood shop making more saw dust!..
