With the leaves falling and having to start packing I did my last run yesterday. It was a good 6 years and I look forward to my new layout.
Good luck with the new home and the new layout.
Shawn,
Best of luck with the new home and new railroad. I’ gonna miss the old railroad (sob, sob).
Shawn, Going to miss all the videos of your great layout. looking forward to the new build. good luck. and slow that Jack down;)
Best of luck shawn, to you and yours on the move…
Yep good luck bro and actually the new RR site looks a lot like the old one but with a deck to boot.
Thanks guys. Rooster I have big plans with the deck. Going to run track under the one corner and put portals for the openings with plants to hide the deck. On the deck Im going to put clear plexi glass so you can see the train under the deck when sitting.
Funny. I cannot see the video in Firefox, but if I go into IE, it’s fine. That’s a switch!
Hi Shawn:
I’ve really enjoyed your videos over the years and look forward to seeing the new layout take shape.

A couple things to note. I was gonna do that with pleix or acrylic a few years back myself and decided not too. For one you will need fairly thick acrylic cause I bet that deck is certainly on 16" center or maybe even 24".
The main thing that turned me off to it was that in rain or snow it would be slicker than stepping on cat crap down a water slide. Not to mention the abrasions it would get, especially shoveling snow.
However it would be very cool.
I also debated sistering to the joists and adding in removable sections. Make them with the decking boards you cut out. When you want the plexi to see the trains you put those in.
