The Fall ECLSTS

Ah! What a let down. The sky was overcast both Friday and Saturday, and there was a bit of rain Friday. I was able to get to the show Friday around 2:30, and on Saturday I met up with Rooster around 9:30. This was the entry halls appearence both days

And the site you were greeted with as you went into the show area.

In the parking lot were maybe 300 cars max. at any given time and this may well have included the dealers. I shot a couple of the deals too be had at Nickolas Smiths. He had a few Great Train sets at $250.00 and $50 extra for a dummy unit.

and a Bachmann “Set”

No real door buster deals just every day pricing. Of course your milage may have varied.

I’m at the beach this weekend, and we’ve had the same crummy weather.
But at least you were able to get together with Rooster

Hopefully they won’t downsize the Spring show
Thanks for the pictures and the report.
Ralph

Yep! Thanks for the report. High 60’s here, why would I go inside?

I don’t for see the fall show lasting (very dismal atmosphere)? Kinda a shame for us and the vendors…Hollywood did miss a pic of Charlie Ro’s Autorack pre production display though…

Lovely weather this week, perfect for going outside and working on the railroad ... except that I was trapped inside working on the silly parts of the "legacy product" (corp-speak for ink-on-paper newspaper). All day today was cloudy and "looked like rain", so I didn't drag the power tools outdoors to continue with my latest building project ( a surefire recipe for bringing down the deluge, in my experience). In the end, it didn't rain today :P, and it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow :D and all the errands are done :D:D

There you go, sometimes you have to plan.

We sure missed the ILL bunch…

Marty, I sent you an email on the 22nd of Sept… Would have loved to have been there, but circumstances made the trip not in the cards, again, this year… Ric sent you an email that explains a few of the reasons… Your ““Steamup”” weekend was always a highlight of the year… Running trains, and chatting with/talking and harrassing good friends… Hopefully, am looking forward to next year…

Sorry I missed you all. I had the rusty boxcar and the scratchbuilt tanker. My impressions were that the people with the best prices (Nicholas Smith & Trainworld) did well in sales. The others looked like not much went. My best buy was Bachmann steel wheels at $10 a set!
We had a good time but left Saturday so we could be home Saturday night and save another $100 for a nights lodging.

Thought that was your tanker Lou!

I missed this show. I wanted to go but my life has been turned upside down since August.
I will try to get to the next show

I had a good time at the show. Got the show car and a classic box car a friend was looking for. I also found a Dogfish Head Reefer (green one) that I’ve been wanting for a while. Meant to try and visit some more folks, but with a 1 and 4 year old in tow, my ‘visiting’ time was limited. I liked that there wasn’t a big crowd, made it easier to navigate. Also, in talking with some dealers, it was better than being in their store with no one in the shop.
