Not sure how a steam engine works making noise but no steam

We are all clear this is a model of a steam engine, with a Piko 0-4-0 motor block underneath? I’m not a fan of smoke generators as they don’t look very realistic.

When you say “We” does that include me because honestly I don’t care but I’m glad it works for you Pete. I’m not a fan of smoke generators either nor am I a fan of steam.

This should be in the Motive Power section Ric!

You know how guys get upset about stuff like this in the wrong section, digging up old threads and especially improper spelin with punchewation ?

What were you thinking?

Materials on hand along with extra materials needed.

Game on!

So Rooster says, he always gives clues of how he does his modeling by showing what he uses in the background and on the workbench. So, of the stuff I can see, he might use paper shop towels, pink foam rubber and something very toxic, because of the fan. I see the coffee cup and are those garden tools and then a battery drill motor? Going to be interesting.

Making progress and still mocking up.

Aren’t your rivets backwards ? Nice looking start(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Nope, not on this build but they are hand placed one by one in the field while rebuilding .

Ric,

I’m still trying to figure out how too make it fit !

Cut it in half - one in each box. V10 instead of V20 (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

You wouldn’t need any weights …

Very cool! Like the look and the doors.

Sucks …The CVRR shops blew the rivet patterns on the end panels because they were in a rush to get them done as they “thought” they had a plan!

SO after debauchery night (last Friday of the month) the CVRR crews will be putting in overtime this weekend.

That is still in the realm as I have extra parts.

I really kinda like the idea of the units made from LGB starter sets and powered tenders.

Trying to work within those parameters and enjoying it…lots of cool stuff to use on them !

You and Andy (dad) are probably (Hal and Frank) !

Well, at least you gave me Hal.

About 1350 hand placed rivets per cab so far but who’s counting.

The uglier the better!

Rivets are cool.

Nothing fancy Ric, only working with materials on hand and basic simplicity. “HINT”…large rivets are a dulled tip on an 8d finish nail and small rivets are a 4d finish nail with the heads cut off so they will fit true into the chuck. Once again this is a “KITBASH” and like the American Indians I will try and waste nothing!
