Aaarh, me hearties, just docked the Black Pearl after a voyage of looting and pillage around ye neighbourhood in company of as rascally a crew of buccaneers as ever escaped a kindergarten. And quite a haul they gathered. Not too many kids out this year, but more than we have seen in some years.
Irony is, of the four grandchildren, only one can eat candy without careful vetting, and even he’s rationed by his mama’s desire not to see him climbing the walls on a chocohigh. But they enjoyed themselves trotting around, and the master’s mate rode the Pearl (alias the garden cart) when he ran out of puff. He’s in his berth now, and the others are parcelling out the swag in search of treats they are allowed.
I can’t even raid the chest this year Doc is on me diabetic case.
Mama just put out the candy. I was wundrin where she hid it, I sure couldn’t find it!
No kids yet, but there’s a few Hershey bars missing already!

They hit here first arount 5:30 and it was a steady stream for 3 hours. I think I lost 10 pounds just walking to the door…
One of the nice things about being around the corner from the end of the earth is that the kiddies don’t tend to get out this far, unless they are determined to destroy my mailbox.
Same here Steve…they’d play hell trying to find the place.

Wellllll … we went to dinner and then to the movies, just so happened that “la Vie en Rose” was playing as part of our mini festival. Besides, I checked out the selection of Halloween Goodies ahead of time, wanted to make sure there’d be at least some decent stuff to use for snacks “on the Hill”, nada strictly JUNK! Good reason not to stay home!
I think I had well over 100 kids begging at the door… I was all tuckered out when it was over but none the less I enjoyed it…lots of cute costumes.
Got lucky, ran out of candy with the big last bunch of kids, had just enough for all visitors, nothing left for me to get fatter on.
They came late this year, not till near 8pm did we actually start getting significant visitors, then by 9pm all was quiet again and I could enjoy watching “Hot Fuzz” on the big TV.
HJ, what did you think of “Le Vie en Rose”?
I thought it was one of the best things I’ve seen this year. If that gal does not get an Academy Award nomination, I’ll now fer sure the whole awards game is just studio rigged BS. I’m already about 2/3s of the way there as it is…

Yep, super movie. Mind you the translation was a bit spotty at times - whenever the dialog got too racy - but with a bit of French one gets a few extra laughs. Super acting! Have to drag out my Piaf records!
