The Calm after the storm

Below are some pictures of the Bluestone Southern, prior to the plows being deployed… Management gave the employees the Christmas weekend off, to enjoy the holiday with their families… This picture is taken from a basment window, looking along the walls of Bluefield out towards Hilltop Subdivision:

Below picture is looking out into the city of Bluefield:

Below Picture is looking out towards Oakdale Junction:

Below is a shot of Woodlawn:

Below is a shot of Sparta from the bedroom window upstairs

We will see what happens, when the plowing crews show up on Monday… We got between 5-6 inches of snow, Christmas eve…

So where’s the Bluestone Southern plow crews? Home watching football?..

Ya where is the plow crew. especially with all that diesel power. Great shots

Am waiting on the crews(grandkids) to show up… besides, it’s warmer in the house…

Plowing out thru Bluefield with leased motive power…

And how did the plowing go ? Did the crew(s) clear the line ?

No… Ran into Maint problems… Plow was fresh out of the box… wheels kept locking up on it, because of the sliders on the electrical contacts for the lights… Will replace the wheels and remove the electrical pickups… Snow was a little moist…
Did however get about 60-70 foot plowed out…

As soon as the winds calm down the KMRR crew is going to start clearing the line.

You can’t take a nice warm plow out of the box and stick it in the snow…it has to set out overnight and season with ambient temp.

Good luck with that Shawn your video looked brutal even for me!!!

Rooster I think the young guy is being a bit of a wuss, even the BS Management was out today trying to clear their line. And besides ‘Mr. Russell’ is stranded in his cabin, running low on his favorite beverages. Maybe KMRR management thinks the wind is gonna clear the line.

5 feathers does NOT constitute a coat…

I don't know Randy....he was dumb enough to be out with a video camera in that crap...got me beat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7I5v2pUG6cE

Besides the B.S. TRIED to clear the snow AFTER the storm and failed?

Edit: to state that the trestle bents at Cumberland appear to be holding up quite well in the storm!!!
Wonder who built them?

They would have succeeded, but their ‘car mechanic’ wasn’t on the job today to fix the problem with the new plow.

Bruce?

dang, how did he keep the buildings from blowing away?

I think some talented Rooster built them. Look that Fire Tower has stood up to two Blizzards in one year.
