Don’t know how far away the tunnel is, but you might consider a slightly raised section over the poorly draining area. Depending how much rain you get, the French drain may never be deep enough.

Nice work so far.
Here is an easy update… it has been raining raining raining and raining so I did nothing more than replaced the plastic wheels on the cars with metal sleeved wheels I got fro TrainLi.
A lot of work has happened even with the rain still making an appearance once in a while.
I HAVE FINALLY COMPLETED THE LOOP!!!
Today I finished installing the final pieces of track to complete the loop.
As the rain was starting to get into my way of progress I decided to adapt to the situation so I could continue the construction on the tunnel.
I tented in the area, the rain became a minor issue. At least I was able to finish the roadbed and lay some track. The concrete walls will have to wait till tomorrow.
The ditch is complete and the track is laid.
There was a possible issue with the pipe feeding the garden sprinkler but luckily they didn’t feel like digging into the clay so the pipe is high enough for the train to pass under it.
