The Bronco rebuild over 5 Years

This is on day one 5 years ago. Had been sitting in a shed for 11 years before I got it. During the rebuild I have had 2 heart attacks and now have end stage kidney failure. Hence the reason for taking five years and also why you good people have not seen me. Just been to plain sick to do anything.

Good to see you posting again Grant. Sorry about your heath issues. That Bronco really looks great!

Grant! Glad to see you!

I had an 81 Bronco in two-toned brown. Basically this:

Great to see you posting Grant. We had many good evenings in the chat room back in the day!

I am a GM guy, I do have an affliction for a well built mill! Your Ford build is great, and I also, am glad you can get back to finishing your truck.

Here is a little well recorded stop action video that probably took hours to make:

Small block build

That’s an amazing video.

Got to admit that is an amazing video

The Cleveland goes in and it looks small in that engine bay

cam break in. No exhaust system after the headers and the garage doors all shut. I did warn the neighbours that this was for about 40 minutes
The Bull bar after hours of cleaning with WD40 but not yet polished

These Hurricane rims were an absolute nightmare to clean up. They are almost impossible to find these days.

All the interior trim was resprayed the same color as original with a special paint supplied by Western Paints here in Melbourne.
Before

After

I was very lucky with the dash pad as it only had a minimal crack in it right in the centre near the screen
Crack repaired and resprayed

New headlining. This is cloth like late model cars and not vynil

New door rubbers and that stainless step guard was a lucky find. I got the last pair available here in Oz.

Heart attack number 2 arrives. This one almost killed me and wrecked my kidneys.

Looking back through the pictures before I posted again, I was about to say, just need a seat and you are done. Now I realize, Oz was colonized by Great Britain, and you all drive on the wrong side of the road. Truck looks great! Those wheels are also sought after by motor-heads here in the States too. (motor head, US slang, not British slang)

I think Lemmy Kilmister would tend to differ.

He spelled it with an umlaut… Motörhead, In Great Britain, motorhead is a druggy, not a gearhead.

In Oz we call them rev heads. But that also depends on what they drive. Most come under the category of moron. Especially Ford Ranger drivers.
