I was listening to a show on NPR this morning called “Weekend Edition” and I was surprised when they dropped the politics to talk about the model train hobby. They had a reporter at the show a few weeks back and he spoke with a couple of vendors about the hobby, the models and the future.
Being NPR of course they had to hit the Anti Trump angle and in this case they talked about the Tariffs and how they have affected the cost of product coming out of China. They said it went from 10% to 145% and the mom and pop shop owners are picking up the cost.
Without getting into the politics it was neat to hear that a news outlet was talking about the hobby and actually went to the Big E show.
