Rather than refer to “small town values”, myself and several friends refer to ourselves as “old school”.
And no, we are not racist, biggotted gun toting nut jobs.
It all has to do with Honesty, respect, disipline and work ethic.
My children don’t run the household. They work for their spending money.
I’m at work every day I’m scheduled, whether I “feel” like it or not.
As for Sara Palin, I think some of the things she said was insulting to urban America. Who really cares?
This is pretty typical behaviour of the average politician. Talk up your people while talking down others.

This did not begin as a thread about “small town values,” which are nothing more than traditional American values (again, something of a generalization). It appeared to me to be just another opportunistic cheap shot at Sarah Palin. The underlying disagreement, as usual, is NOT small town vs big city but traditional vs secular progressive values.
You are spot on, Ron. This is what I was trying to say earlier. Traditional values exist both in small towns and in large cities. Secular progressive values exist in the same places. The battle continues.
