Thanksgiving

May I sincerely wish all of my friends across the water a Very Happy Thanksgiving .

May the next year bring more peace .

Mike Morgan
ooooooo

ps my son Martyn is over there in LA enjoying meeting his future In-Laws , so it’s his first Thanksgiving .

He has already phoned me a few times with comments about the strange behaviour of Americans .
Like , we eat turkey at Christmas , mainly because there's no Thanksgiving , his hire car has the steering wheel on the wrong side , forcing him
to drive on the wrong side of the road ,
He has been looking for a gas tap on the car , we use petrol you know .
He picked up the car at the airport , and insisted that the hire company rep escort him while he inspected the car . This bloke didn't know where
the bonnet was , let alone bonnet release ;similarly , he was confounded by the boot . started muttering about trunks . Where do they find
these people who know nothing about cars ? He couldn't even spell "Tyre"

We do like you , though

Hope he has fun at the truck stops…

Thank you, Mike. It is the greatest of Holidays. I’m sure your son will enjoy it. It is the only holiday where it is an insult if you don’t eat too much and it is almost mandatory that you fall asleep after the meal. The best is the leftovers. I can still remember the cold white meat sandwiches, cold dressing and cranberry sauce with black and ripe olives at 10 pm at night. Oh wait, that was last year. But also every year since I can remember, so at least 55 of them.

Quite close to Sidon, isn't it?

Hehe Mike,

Thanks for the well-wishes. In spite of our unfamiliarity with car parts and driving on the wrong side we do have you Brits on one thing…

We can have turkey at BOTH Thanksgiving and Christmas. See? you can learn something from the “Colonials” after all!

Gee I can just see my ancestors now, coming west, my great grandma wearing her “hood” tied securely on her head and carrying her belongings in her steamer boot. Bet she was tyred. English! Whoever invented that confounded confusing language anyway? :o)

JB That is s-u-p-e-r! Mind you the farmer doesn’t look much like a Brit, OTOH he could be undercover.  And he does have one of those regimental mustaches.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the crew South of the Border. Question for Ric: When you fall asleep after the meal, does your face end up in the gravy?

Boy I hope not!! He's got more hair on his face than I do...:D

Happy Turkey Day everybody…even you foreigners that drive on the wrong side of the road!

You Brits must not have travelled with much back in the early days of cars…if it all fit in a boot. We put trunks on the back of our cars to hold our worldly possessions when we travelled.

Warren

A very Happy Thanksgiving to ONE and ALL.
Ron

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you all have plenty to be thankful for.

Thank you Mike & Hans

Happy Thanksgiving to All.

And now for a chorus of our official Thanksgiving Anthem: Alice’s Restaurant

Not much of a gravy man. So for that amongst many other things, I am greatful, otherwise the scenario may play out of me falling face first in the bowl. First course was completed about 1 pm after a sizeable breakfast. Desert was consumed at 3:30 local time. The bride just asked if anyone needed anything and the only reply was a belch. Leftovers tonight and we already have dinner plans for the next two nights with friends and family. I tell you this personal dedication to preventing world hunger is time consuming. The weather here is beyond beautiful. 65 degrees today and kids across the street are playing football. We think this is the third generation of the same family we’ve seen playing ball on that same lot. Thomas ran outside today for the one granddaughter and all the grandkids are going to the train show on Saturday.

We do live a wonderful life, as do many of our friends. I am so blessed for all that I 've been given and never understand why I have such a life. I can only be thankful for all that is given to me. I am also thankful for all the wonderful friends I have, some I may never meet face to face, but still they impact my life everyday. May you all find joy on this day of Thanksgiving. It may not be anything more than knowing that somebody gave thanks for your communication on this confounded confuser, but it is very appreciated.

Now back to the consumption. Moderation, moderation, everything in moderation. Yeah, right.
