Thanksgiving and rain

We have rain. First rainfall, of any measurement, in over 2 months. Ground and grass look like different areas of the country than this.

One more thing we should be Thankful for. I’m also thankful for all of you and wish you and yours a bountiful blessing of peace and abundance. Take time to contemplate and give thanks for all that you have and don’t forget to eat too much, It’s a Tradition.

I even have rain down here… I thought rain was an endangered species…

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all friends, near & far…

Only rain! Howes about frozen snow and below zero temps! And it is so much fun watching the ‘flatlanders’ drive on the icy road up a “steep” hill. There should be a law if it ain’t four wheel drive it stays home!

Happy Thanksgiving. Today we have blue sky but very windy and cold. Tomorrow I have to work for Turkey Day and weather calling for snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain.

Hehe! It’s raining here. Surprise! Even a very light bit of snow yesterday, all gone now. I think we only had about two months without rain here this year. Been cooler and wetter than usual.

Anyway… HAVE A VERY HAPPY THANKGIVING !!!

Almost 2.5 inches in 24 hours. We’ve gone from drought to flash floods in the same 24 hours. Lots more scheduled to come. Right now, no idea how this will impact the Holiday. I know some people will be working this weekend and family plans will be put on hold. Thankfully, no one has been reported hurt and we will weather this storm. Actually, enjoying the change.

Happy Thanksgiving all!!!
See ya’ tomorrow dad!

Happy Thanksgiving all. This year will be a small gathering at the Radder ranch since #1 son just moved to Portland and Marilyn’s brother goes to in-laws on Long Island. We do have a tradition second Thanksgiving at Marilyn’s brother’s on Friday. My brother is in Buffalo so a phone call will have to do.

One Thanksgiving dinner at noon with the in-laws. Another dinner at home at 6:00pm. Five of our eight children will be here.
We may not have everything we want, but we’re thankful for everything we have
If the weather holds, I’ll run a train or two and watch a little football

Calling for 46 and rain here.
Kim blew up the cheapy roaster (with spitzensparken and a loud ‘POP!’) we had, so she says she’s going to TRY cooking Mr Turkey or at least his bosom, wrapped in foil in the (dry, on high) crock pot… If I survive it I’ll let you all know if it actually worked…

My children preferred to go to a restaurant with their mom, but promised to come over after shopping on Friday to devour everything in the house.

let 'er rain! Had to get out in it and snake out a drain pipe under my driveway this morning. Started to flood my basement. Had not rained in soooooooo long! It’s kinda neat (NOT) to see the flow of water wash out ballast on everything I did this summer! Now I have a couple spots to place more culverts under roadbed etc.

Just a quick note… the crockpot thing actually worked. One VERY tender and moist Mr Turkey. (Much better than a rubbery smelly old Rooster, hehehe)… The only problem was we had to smell it cooking ALL night, so I may eat twice as much.

They say we need the water, so a long soaking rain is good… except it makes the darn Creeping Charlie go nuts.

Snowing here, SWMBO is out shoveling (what a gal!). I have my tasks, so I’m not getting off easily. We were sked to go across to the Tacoma area, but this most recent storm freaked out everyone who did not grow up with snow, so the gathering was canc’ed by the flat-landers. It is just the two of us, along with Gunny the dog, Inigo Montoya the cat, and 6 chickens. We are having a heat wave, the temp is all the way up to 18 F, up from -10F last night.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

I plowed the mainline yesterday, but will have to do it again, today.

We ended up with over 3.5 inches of rain and then covered that with snow and sleet. This was actually the first hard freeze we have had this year. Its all white now.
