All I gotta say is, after watching and experiencing elsewhere, the use of ONE Moderator/owner sure makes a BIG difference in the equal application of the “rules”.
Thanks, Bob.
Ya think?
:o
Coupled with the absolute cluelessness of specific posters who just add a “me too” without even knowing…
Won’t be long now.
WOOW. ol grandPA has mellowed, thank you??? where the shot gun???
I’d add a “me too,” but that shot gun comment bothers me, some…

Thank you, TOC, and everybody.
I’ll stick with Bob’s way…it seems to attract more true Model Railroaders, and people that seem to be able to read, and do read. There are also, it seems, more thick skinned people around here, that can laugh at themselves, and enjoy the fun of friendship and the hobby. It helps, that Bob is a true modeller, and is, on his own, deep into the hobby. He seems to have the type of personality that knows just the right moment, to jump in, to bring the gang back into order. It also helps that he is surrounded by people that are not afraid to use their real names…instead of hiding behind some “TYrade Name”. It makes this web page so much more personal, and friendly…it even gives a feeling of trust, which is so lost in todays real World.
Thank you Bob, and thank you fellow members of LSC.
Bob,
Although I am not as prolific a poster as others here, that is one of the prime reasons I prefer this forum over others available. That is not to say I don’t haunt those as well, but this one is by far the most pleasant to frequent. When I hop online to read, this is always the first one I read.
So I say “Bob, thanks for ALL you do … and tolerate … on this forum for the behest of us all.”
Bob C.
Prolific? Isn’t that just another word for…well… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GOYYbiEul0&feature=related

I have no idea where you’ve been reading, but that multi-moderator bit is good for lengthy threads on more than one forum. I like it best when one mod writes “no reason to lock it” and then another comes along and locks it. It’s as if the second one didn’t read the whole thread, which is always a handicap for a moderator.

Hey Fred,
Today is Marshall McLuhan’s 100th birthday, CBC is running all kinds of interesting snippets. In one of them he’s being interviewed and 5the interviewer asks him if he feels quoted out of context. To which McLuhan replies (I paraphrase) “Not really, I’m used to people not understanding and always recounting things in a way that suits them and their world view.”
This was from an interview back in the early 60s and very little has changed these past 50 years.
Yep, Bob has just the right attitude and balance!
Ditto…as opposed to “me too”…
This is by far the best site and the best people. Its also nice to see some of the other great posters from the “other site” jumping onboard. This site is set as my home page.
Guns worry me!! So, risking a ‘me too’ post I will just say that this is a great place to be part of.

So this is where the thread begins to degenerate into pro gun control, anti gun control battle…then somehow segues into a battle over Washingtons attemt to legislate something over TV…Charlton Heston is mentioned. Clint Eastwood and Sara palin become involved…then we get a message from Wilfred Brimly on Diabeetus…

Would it be “Trolling” if I said I hate Wilfred Brimly?
who is Wilfred Brimly?
mentioning Charlton Heston - saw some trailers for a “new movie” on tv, that reminded me of the Omega Man.
just to cut this sequel short:
